With the color combination navy and white, most people tend to think about sailors immediately. But it can actually be super chic and wearable.
There are only a few things to keep in mind: it is important to balance the outfit and the colors well. Stick to one or two key pieces that are both navy and white and then add some basic items in the same color scheme to let those statement pieces stand out without being too overwhelming. When doing this, keep in mind that there are many navy and white patterns that are not stripes that are definitely worth exploring as well. Additionally, it makes sense to think about the proportions of the outfit as well. I personally think that a slightly wider fit is more flattering for the two colors, so that there is no association of the “sexy sailor”-theme that we on Halloween each year.
With that being said, here are three navy and white looks for inspiration! ♥
Business casual
This is a look that works well in almost every setting. The H&M tunic has thin light blue and white horizontal stripes and a delicate embroidery on it. It has a wide fit and is quite long, which makes it especially flattering for all the tall ladies like myself. For a walk around the city and eating some ice-cream, I chose to pair it with dark blue jeans and my all-white Adidas Superstars. But paired with dark or nude heels, this could be the perfect business look as well – especially when you switch out the jeans with white pants.

just for fun
This is for sure the most stereotypical navy and white look. It is a striped long-sleeved dress by Mango paired with some light pink sneakers and some really pretty glasses by ilymix. I really enjoy wearing it for long days in university or for going shopping – anything casual and fun.
Side note (*ad): If you fell in love with the glasses immediately like myself, you can get them for 20% off with my code fashionprompter! Click here to have the code be automatically applied for every ilymix item.. ♥

floral elegance
This might be my favorite look out of the three. The H&M kimono jacket has an intricate floral pattern and moves beautifully. I paired it with a simple combination of a navy top and dark jeans. Also, I wore my Adidas Superstars with it. But those could easily be changed to navy high heels or some navy and white sandals to elevate the look.
