my photoshoot for Jade Helene Designs

As some of you might know, I study communication design. This semester, I really got to love photography. I had several courses that were focused around it. The best part was that one of them was about fashion photography. That enabled me to combine two of my passions with each other.

Once I heard what the assignment was, I immediately knew that I wanted to make it a collaboration. So I began looking for local fashion designers that would lend me clothes so that I could take the pictures for them. And I found the perfect match: Jade Helene Designs. I fell in love with the clothes that she creates and her overall “Berlin nightlife” aesthetic. Luckily, when I visited her at Level Eight, she agreed to me lending some clothes right away.

After that, I developed a design concept that would represent the brand Jade Helene Designs well. Also, I wanted to find a way to show the beautiful details of the clothes. After going back and forth on some ideas, I decided to do a series that would show a very clean look with a light background next to the same look out and about at night in Berlin. For me, it was all about creating a contrast.

Once I got the clothes, I did some test pictures at home to see how the clothes would photograph and in what angle they would look best in. This is not a necessary step for every photoshoot, but since it was my first bigger one and I did not have a lot of time to do it, I wanted to be super prepared. (Also, I just could not resist – I mean look at the clothes!!)

But for the photoshoot, I was lucky enough to be able to work together with my wonderful model Anna. She was the perfect match for this and I could not be more thankful about how well she did. But see for yourself! ♥

I really hope you enjoyed to see this. I had so much fun doing it and I am happy with the results!

But that could not have happened without everyone involved: I really want to thank Jade for lending me the clothes and having trust in me, Anna for being the best model ever and Jette and Annicka for helping out, calming me down and making the evening a lot of fun! ♥
